American Airlines Expands Access to Mexico with Direct Flights from Dallas to Tampico
Starting March 5, 2025, American Airlines will introduce direct flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Tampico International Airport (TAM), enhancing travel options between these two locations.
Details of the New Route
The new service will be operated by Envoy Air, under the American Eagle brand, using Embraer E170 aircraft. Flight bookings will open on September 16, 2024. This direct route will be a welcome addition, as current options require a stopover through other airlines.
Broader Impact and Commitment
With this new route, American Airlines will serve a total of 31 destinations in Mexico, reinforcing its presence in the leisure travel market. This year alone, the airline has also added Tulum and Veracruz to its list of Mexican destinations.
American Airlines currently operates flights to 30 cities in Mexico, including major destinations like Cancun and Mexico City. In 2023, it operated over 63,000 flights to Mexico, transporting nearly 10 million passengers.
The addition of Tampico not only expands American Airlines' network but also offers travelers an easy gateway to explore the area and its attractions.
