HARRIS TO TRAVEL TO US-MEXICO BORDER FRIDAY
Harris to Visit U.S.-Mexico Border Amid Political Tensions
Vice President Kamala Harris is set to travel to Douglas, Arizona, on Friday to visit the U.S.-Mexico border, opposite Agua Prieta, Mexico.
The announcement came this Wednesday from the Harris campaign, following recent criticism from former President Donald Trump.
Trump accused Harris of making the trip for "political reasons" as he continues to focus on the border issue ahead of the November elections. He has consistently targeted Harris and the Biden administration regarding their border management policies.
In July, the Trump campaign aired an ad criticizing Harris for her involvement as the administration's "border czar," addressing migration challenges. House Republicans also passed a resolution condemning her in that capacity.
Despite the criticism, Harris has defended her immigration record, recently claiming in an ad that she adopts a tougher stance on immigration than Trump.
After her border visit, Harris will head to San Francisco for a political event on Saturday and will continue her campaign in Los Angeles and Nevada on Sunday.
