Minor Milton Damage in Mexican State of Yucatan
After Hurricane Milton's recent brush with the state, Yucatan has reported minimal damage. Governor Joaquin Diaz Mena has kept a close watch on the Category 4 storm as it moved offshore near Rio Lagartos.
Reports indicate 274 incidents, primarily power outages and downed trees from cities like Merida, Progreso, and Celestun. Fortunately, there has been no major structural damage or casualties.
The Comisión Federal de Electricidad is working to restore power, especially in flood-affected Celestun, while repairs have already been made in Sisal. As conditions improve, operations at Merida's Manuel Crescencio Rejon Airport have resumed.
The coastal areas of Tizimin, particularly El Cuyo, Rio Lagartos, and Las Coloradas, faced the greatest effects of the storm, sheltering 1,020 residents seeking safety. Nevertheless, reports suggest a positive turn in conditions.
With Hurricane Milton now moving away, state authorities remain vigilant, but the worst seems to be over for Yucatan.
