Royal Caribbean Plans New Private Destination: Perfect Day Mexico
By Andrea Zelinski
Royal Caribbean International is set to unveil "Perfect Day Mexico" in 2027. The new private destination will be situated near the port of Costa Maya, Quintana Roo, adjacent to Mahahual.
This destination promises to mirror the success of Royal Caribbean's "Perfect Day at CocoCay" in the Bahamas, complete with a water park, ocean-view pools, restaurants, bars, artisan shops, and dishes inspired by the local culture.
CEO Jason Liberty stated, "Perfect Day at CocoCay has transformed our guest experience and business. With travelers seeking unique experiences, we’re thrilled to expand our collection."
The project spans 200 acres. It includes revitalizing the cruise port and constructing a transportation hub that provides easy access to both Perfect Day Mexico and local attractions. Half of the acreage will focus on conservation efforts.
This development opens new prospects for Royal Caribbean's Western Caribbean itineraries, enhancing both long and short cruises from Galveston. Access to Perfect Day Mexico will be included in cruise fares, ensuring affordability for travelers.
Royal Caribbean is collaborating with local communities and the Quintana Roo government to maintain the coast’s natural beauty and create economic opportunities.
In recent years, private destinations have gained increasing significance for cruise lines. Perfect Day Mexico will join Royal Caribbean’s existing private destinations, which include CocoCay and Labadee in Haiti.
Additionally, the company plans to introduce two exclusive fee-based beach clubs: a Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island, Nassau, in 2025, and another in Cozumel in 2026.
