THIS COUPLE IS SHINING A LIGHT ON MEXICO’S PUEBLOS MÁGICOS

Spotlighting Mexico’s Pueblos Mágicos

Robin and Marty, a couple based in Cozumel, have dedicated themselves to visiting every Pueblo Mágico in Mexico, sharing their experiences through their YouTube channel, Mexico Living the Dream.

What Are Pueblos Mágicos?

Pueblos Mágicos, or Magical Towns, are a two-decade-old initiative by the Mexican government to designate towns that offer unique cultural experiences. These towns are known for their rich traditions, gastronomy, stunning architecture, and artisanal crafts.

A Journey Begins

During the pandemic, Robin and Marty had to relocate to San Cristóbal de las Casas, where they fell in love with the town's architecture and culinary scene. This ignited their desire to explore more Pueblos Mágicos and discover the real essence of Mexico.

Exploring 177 Pueblos Mágicos

Across 31 states and Mexico City, there are 177 designated Pueblos Mágicos. Inspired, Robin got a scratch map to track their travels, scratching off each Pueblo as they visit.

Favorite Discoveries

Janitizio has emerged as their favorite magical town, known for its fascinating history and beautiful hiking trails around Lake Pátzcuaro. Robin, of Oneida heritage, appreciates how the history of this town reflects positive Indigenous support.

Unique Experiences

Each Pueblo Mágico offers distinct experiences, such as hot air ballooning over Teotihuacán, learning traditional crafts, and nature adventures like viewing the monarch butterfly migration.

What's Next?

The couple plans to explore Querétaro and experience the region's wineries, along with a train adventure through Copper Canyon, beginning in Sinaloa.

For anyone looking to uncover the magic of Mexico, following Robin and Marty’s journey could inspire a deeper connection to these vibrant communities.
