There are many long distance routes in Spain - from the famous Camino de Santiago to the GR7 path which is over 1000 miles long (and also Spain first official long distance path.

You don't have to embark on a multi day (or week) epic to enjoy long distance walking. There are some superb some linear walks of 10 miles or more in the Costa Blanca region which can be fully or part guided and with vehicle/food/drink support.

Here are a few of our classic long walks.

  • Finestrat to Abdet
  • Serrella Traverse
  • Aitana Traverse
  • Montejedor
  • Montcabrer

Finestrat to Abdet - (16 miles - 3000 feet of ascent)

This long day in the mountains starts in the thriving village of Finestrat, and makes it way around the southern flanks of the might Puig Campana. From there it utilises some superb old Arab trails through the ridges and valleys of the interior before the final ascent to Partagat. From there a long gradual descent back to Abdet

Serrella Traverse - (16 miles - 3500 feet of ascent)

The ridges and hidden canyons of the Sierra Serrella are explored in this linear route that traverses East to West. Starting at the Embalse de Guadalest a gentle start around the lake is followed by a long but steady ascent onto the ridge. From there the route follows the ridges and flanks of the range and you are rewarded by fantastic views on the valleys below. A final ascent to the firewatch point leads to a dramatic finish along a spectacular but easy ridge before the final decent to Benasau

Aitana Traverse - (12 miles - 2500 feet of ascent)

This route takes in the highest point in Valencia Province - the might Aitana at 5112 feet. The start is the spectacular Pena Roc scramble which provides sensational views and postions via a low grade scramble. From there the undulating ridge heads West gradually ascending to the highest part of the traverse which provides stunning vistas over the vast cliffs and faults (cimas). A choice of descents leads to easier terrain and then some easy tracks to the Puerto Tudons which marks the end of the traverse.
